Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the negative feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

He started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to discipline and a continuing love for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is incredibly humble about his success. Phil knows he makes errors every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Even though Phil has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
