Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover anything he possibly could about the game. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes errors every single game of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a normal basis.
