Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated a number of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes blunders in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
